Registry of Deeds

If the property is unregistered, i.e. the  land  has not been registered in the Land Registry, the existence of deeds in relation to such property may be recorded in the Registry of Deeds, and as such, a Registry of Deeds search should be carried out to determine what deeds have been registered affecting the property. The search is carried out in the Names Index against the grantor.

The ENKI Registry of Deeds search allows the user to identify all acts for an individual or organisation in the date range and county specified. The search can be conducted from the 1st January 1970 to the current date.

The names and county fields are mandatory. The search results can be further filtered by entering additional optional details, such as  the description of the premises, including street address, townland, Barony and Parish. If the Barony or Parish is unknown, populating the townland field will automatically populate the Barony and Parish fields. Likewise, if the townland is not known, populating only the Barony or Parish field will display a list of all town-lands in that barony/Parish, any or all of which can be included or excluded.  Acts with a non-specific County will  always be included in the final search results.

It is important to give as full a description of the lands as it is or was previously known, and against all variations of the grantor’s name.  Premises within Acts that do not come under the terms of the requisition will be excluded from the final report
